Frequently Asked Questions

What are therapeutic group programs?

Our therapeutic group programs are structured, therapist-facilitated sessions in small groups, focused on building social, emotional, and developmental skills through engaging, strengths-based activities.

Each group is designed to feel safe, supportive and enjoyable while also supporting meaningful skill development in areas such as confidence, communication, emotional regulation, flexibility and connection with others.

Our groups are suitable for children and teenagers who may benefit from support with:

  • Social confidence and friendships
  • Emotional regulation and anxiety
  • Communication skills
  • Flexibility and coping with change
  • Self-esteem and identity development
  • Neurodivergent support (including ADHD and autism profiles)

We work with a wide range of young people, and groups are designed to meet participants where they are at developmentally and emotionally.

Each group is facilitated by a qualified therapist and follows a consistent structure that balances:

  • guided activities
  • social interaction
  • skill-building opportunities
  • flexibility for individual needs

Sessions are designed to be predictable enough for safety, but flexible enough to keep children engaged and supported.

Our groups are intentionally small, with no more than 5 participants at a time, to ensure each child receives appropriate support, feels included, and has opportunities to meaningfully engage with peers.

Yes. Our groups are neuroaffirming and designed to support neurodivergent young people, including those with ADHD and autism profiles. We focus on understanding each child’s strengths, communication style, and sensory needs, rather than expecting them to fit a single way of participating.

Many children in our groups initially feel shy or uncertain. The structured and activity-based nature of groups helps reduce social pressure, making it easier to participate without the intensity of unstructured social interaction.

Facilitators are experienced in gently supporting children to feel safe, included, and gradually more confident over time.

You can submit an enquiry through our website, and our team will guide you through the next steps. This may include a short parent-only intake session to ensure the group is a good fit and to help set your child up for a positive experience.

Yes. Our group programs are NDIS compatible, and many families choose to access funding through their plan (where appropriate and in line with their goals and supports).

We can provide the necessary documentation and invoices to support NDIS claims. If you’re unsure about your plan or funding category, our team can guide you through this during the enquiry process.
